Obituary for John Matt Dennee
John M. Dennee (Matt) passed into the care of our Lord Jesus Christ at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of William Ralph and Marguerite (Dalton) Dennee of Hudson, OH and Lima, NY.
He was predeceased by infant daughter Moira Ellen, daughter-in-law Michelle, and brother-in-law James Vitalone.
He is survived by his wife Joan (Sellinger) Dennee, 5 sons and their families, John, Paul (Mary), Tim (Lily), Ted (Courtney), Andy (Anne) and grandchildren Peter, Kathryn, Thomas, Grace, Matthew, Jacob, Louisa, Adeline, and Johnathan. Also survived by brother-in-law Jerry Sellinger (Donna), sisters-in-law Cathy Sellinger and Rita Vitalone, and many close nieces and nephews.
Matt was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University and served as an officer in the United States Air Force. Also an MBA graduate at the University of Rochester, he retired after 33 years of service as Vice President of Materials at the Genesee Brewing Company.
As a devout Catholic, Matt was a life-long volunteer in church activities and worked 20 years as a consultant with SCORE, helping build successful small businesses. Matt was a humble man, dedicated to his family, faith, work, and community. Special thanks to URMC Hospice, Jason Pacos, MD, Leigh Schirmer, PA for their beautiful care.
