Obituary for Josefa Krystyna Bagdonas
Monday, April 18th, 2022. Predeceased by her husband, Vincent Bagdonas; parents, Adam and Marta Prusakowski; sister, Hania; brothers, Joachim, Stefan, Tadeusz, Stanislaw; grandson, Peter Gierczak. Josefa is survived by her daughters, Yolanda (Andrzej) Gierczak and Mickey (Mark) Gierczak; step-daughter, Angelica (Doug) Bloomer and family; grandchildren, Adam (Pamela) Gierczak, Justyna (Aaron) Gierczak Consaul; granddaughter in law, Kristi Vick Gierczak (Peter's widow); great-grandchildren, Veronika Consaul, Brandon Gierczak, Aeden Consaul, Peyton Consaul, Paige Gierczak, Aubriela Consaul, Lilah Gierczak, Logan Gierczak; sister-in-law in Poland, Teresa Prusakowski; her companion in the last few years of her life, Zbyszek Sliwinski.
Josefa was born in Poland on March 13th, 1934. She immigrated with her daughter Yolanda to France in 1961. In 1966 Josefa and Yolanda immigrated to the United States. In 1970 her younger daughter Mickey joined them in the United States. Josefa will be remembered for her hard work ethics, which she passed on to her family and her generosity to her family here and in Poland for which they are very grateful. She worked at Hickey Freeman from her arrival to the United States until retirement in 2001. She enjoyed some traveling during retirement. She also as a retiree worked part time in Webster schools as a lunch aid until the age of 83.
It was Josefa's wishes to have private services. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be offered to Rochester Regional Home Health Care and Hospice Foundation 330 Monroe Ave. Suite 400 Rochester, NY 14607 in memory of Josefa Bagdonas to support others in need.
