Rick had a great passion for music. He was well known as a jazz musician in the Rochester area, playing saxophone in many bands, including The Convertibles, The Dukes, The Dynamics, and the Greater Rochester Jazz Orchestra. Rick performed at many events, such as the Rochester Jazz Festival, the Lilac Festival and the Rochester Sesquicentennial Celebration. In addition, he had his own business, Rick’s Musical Instrument Repair, specializing in woodwind and brass repair and restoration.

Rick was an avid reader and loved to research history and art, especially from Italy. When he traveled there, he did much family history research and worked on the family genealogy. Rick loved to read and study the jazz masters, religion, and local history; he was intrigued by the many colorful and notorious figures of Rochester.
